Abstract

Virtual hand interaction can greatly improve the operation significance of virtual instrument experiment. In order to apply virtual hand to virtual instrument interaction, as well as enhance the mechanical feedback effects, a physics-based real-time hand interaction method with high precision is proposed. We present a high precision restricted motion control algorithm by classifying the conventional instrument motion modes and considering the constraints and environmental force. We improve the tendon model of the existing tendon algorithm as well as the dynamics equation, to give a true mechanical feedback of physical interactions. Using Leap Motion and Modelica for hand data acquisition and equation calculation, we have realized an example of interaction, which proves the real-time and interactive authenticity of the method.
