To meet the requirements of lower latency and massive data transmission in virtual reality (VR) applications, a multipoint cooperative transmission mechanism is proposed for VR applications over 5G New Radio. In particular, different-quality coding levels are ultilized through the multipoint cooperative transmission to support the immersive experience of users’ different views.
