Abstract
In this paper, we propose a novel cross-layer frame-work for Multi-user 360-degree video streaming over cellular networks. At the content layer, Scalable Video Coding is utilized to encode a tile into multiple layers. At the transport layer, the tiles’ layers are delivered to users in hybrid unicast/multicast mode. The experiment results show that the proposed method can improve the average viewport quality by up to 4.85% compared to state-of-the-art method
