Virtual reality is often interpreted as an experience where the user is immersed in a responsive virtual world. Gaming in a virtual world often utilizes peripherals in order to enhance user immersion. This paper provides the design and implementation of a VR gun controller with haptic feedback for the HTC Vive. Compared to current gun controllers with recoil systems that cost between 260to2400, the proposed design costs $150 while providing an immersive experience to the users.
