Abstract
In this paper, we propose a voice-based interaction technique applied to an augmented reality (AR) system for automobile assembly / disassembly. We use the speech signal to perform the interaction with augmented reality environment. This latter is composed of virtual car’s components inserted in the real scene. Thanks to Windows Voice Recognition, the voice commands are recognized and translated into textual commands and they are interpreted in internal order by the AR system. This allows the user to manipulate the different parts and view them by simply giving voice commands, such as the designation of objects by their name to make them appear or move them indicating the next position.
