A Product prototyping is an approach to simplify a design process efficiently by allowing users to experience a prototype of a product. The goal of this project is to develop a virtual reality prototyping system based on the interactions between consumers and producers. The system is designed and constructed that it enables user experience-oriented prototyping. The system supports product design process by creating, checking and manipulating a virtual product in a virtual environment. To maximize the usability of the system, the design of haptic controller is also proposed. Using a haptic controller capable of haptic interaction for each finger, virtual reality prototyping process of holding objects in a virtual environment can be expressed in a more realistic manner.
