Abstract

According to the latest international convention, virtual reality scene rendering in ice navigation is absolutely necessary in the visual system of navigation simulator. And the sea ice model is the key part of the whole system, which could be real-time broken depending on the actual interaction requirements. For meeting requirements of realistic and real-time performance of ice navigation visual system, after analyzing the disadvantages of original algorithm, a new sea ice geometry-based modeling algorithm is offered in this paper. In this 3D sea ice geometry-based modeling, Voronoi diagram modeling algorithm are adopted, which could simulate icebreaking process and channel frozen up visually with high immersive and real-time simulated effects.
