Abstract
This work introduces a framework that combines virtual reality with an omnidirectional treadmill system to facilitate rehabilitation of populations with balance deficits caused by injury, neurological disorders, or aging. The system uses full body motion tracking to control the movement direction of the treadmill and assist the patient through a set of tasks, in a virtual reality environment designed to motivate and guide the patient.
